Concept: Flat Damage & Flat Resist Spells

Wizard101 could transform into a whole new game with a massive meta shift with straying away from percentage stats to flat stats as told by developer Mattnetic.

*Please note that these are all ideas; These are not leaks, or real.

With the introduction of flat stats, a bunch of percentage based spells could remain, but things could either get changed or added. Here are some concepts on flat damage based spells that can be introduced into the game.

Here's a concept of gear. Larger flat resist, and larger flat damage. Some pieces of gear will still have percentages to increase your flat stats, but will be at a lower amount. Percentages could act as a more prestigious stat as they can be deemed really powerful. Robes could contain percent damage, and hats could contain percent resist. A new gear category could even be introduced to add percentages to the game.

Strengthen

As a counterpart to Amplify, Strengthen will add flat damage to all your outgoing damage spells. Think of it as a 4 round "Strong" or "Monstrous". As you learn one spell, spellements can help you upgrade this spell via Spellwrighting. Potential numbers for Spellwrighting on this spell could go as followed:

Spellwrighting Tiers

+100 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - Trained with Training point - Level 50+ Only

+130 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 10 Spellements - Level 50+ Only

+155 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 15 Spellements - Level 55+ Only

+190 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 20 Spellements - Level 60+ Only

+215 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 25 Spellements - Level 65+ Only

+240 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 30 Spellements - Level 70+ Only

+275 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 35 Spellements - Level 75+ Only

+300 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 40 Spellements - Level 80+ Only

+320 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 50 Spellements - Level 100+ Only

+350 Flat Damage - 4 Rounds - 75 Spellements - Level 110+ Only

+350 Flat Damage - 5 Rounds - 115 Spellements - Level 125+ Only

With the introduction of Flat Damage, Percentages could take a major nerf for the better. Amplify could get changed to a mere 5%, Fortify as well.

Reinforce

As a counterpart to Fortify, Reinforce will add flat RESIST to protect you from incoming damage spells. Think of it as a bit of a twist to Absorb. This aura will last 4 rounds and reduces incoming damage by a specific number. This spell will be open to Spellwrighting and upgraded via spellements. Potential numbers for Spellwrighting on this spell could go as followed:

Spellwrighting Tiers

+175 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - Trained with Training point - Level 50+ Only

+190 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 10 spellements - Level 50+ Only

+210 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 15 Spellements - Level 55+ Only

+230 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 20 Spellements - Level 60+ Only

+250 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 25 Spellements - Level 65+ Only

+270 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 30 Spellements - Level 70+ Only

+290 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 35 Spellements - Level 75+ Only

+310 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 40 Spellements - Level 80+ Only

+330 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 45 Spellements - Level 100+ Only

+350 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 50 Spellements - Level 110+ Only

+380 Flat Resist - 4 Rounds - 55 Spellements - Level 120+ Only

Increment & Lessen

Similar to Balanceblade

Similar to Weakness

Buckler

Level 80+ Only

This unique Absorb aura would be a large absorb that acts like an absorb shield spell. Once 850 damage is taken, the aura will disappear.

What do you think about flat damage and flat resist? Lots of potential could happen with these spells, and new stats. A brand new future could be upon us with Wizard101!
